Bieber, Swift og The Weeknd blandt de store vindere

I aftes blev prisshowet American Music Awards afholdt i Microsoft Theater i Los Angeles for et begrænset livepublikum grundet corona-restriktioner – og for tv-seerne, naturligvis. Showet adskiller sig fra Grammy-uddelingen ved, at det til American Music Awards er publikum og ikke en fagjury, der kårer vinderne.

Blandt de store vindere finder vi Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift og The Weeknd, der hver modtog tre priser. Bieber vandt priserne Collaboration of the Year, Favourite Male Artist – Pop/Rock og Favourite Song – Country. Swift løb med priserne Artist of the Year, Favourite Female Artist – Pop/Rock og Favourite Music Video. The Weeknd modtog priserne Favourite Male Artist – Soul/R&B, Favourite Album – Soul/R&B og Favourite Song – R&B.

Skullespilleren Taraji P. Henson var vært, og der var optrædener fra blandt andre Justin Bieber, BTS, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion og Nelly, både fra Los Angeles og fra rundt om i verden grundet corona-restriktioner. BTS optrådte eksempel fra hjemmebanen i Seoul.
