Alt. rock excavations of the many sides of the mind
Tyler Ramsey manages to attract all attention in a room with his songs and let the listener be engulfed by his voice. The former lead guitarist of Band of Horses released his fourth solo album earlier this year New Lost Ages.
The ten new songs form a sonic quest, wandering through Ramsey's landscape of rock with indie and folk elements. The new album is about peeling off layers of oneself, finding and opening the dusty boxes from your past at the back of your mind's closet. It's memories and mistakes, learnings and lifelines that bring the present into focus. The future is bright and full of possibilities and purpose, as long as you never forget the way to here and now.
The recordings took place at the renowned Avast! Recording Co. studio in Seattle, together with producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty, The Shins, Built to Spill). On the instruments side, Ramsey was accompanied by bassist Morgan Henderson (Fleet Foxes) and drummer Sean Lane (Ann Wilson).
