Kvindelige artister dominerer feltet forud for februars store Grammy-uddeling
I fredags løftede det amerikanske Recording Academy sløret for de nominerede til det prestigefyldte Grammy-Awardshow, der finder sted den 4. februar 2024.
I front ligger SZA med hele ni nomineringer, særligt for sit anmelderroste album SOS fra december 2022 og den dertilhørende hitsingle ”Kill Bill”. Lige efter finder vi Phoebe Bridgers med syv nomineringer, herunder fra sin medvirken i indiebandet Boygenius, hvis album The Record er nomineret i flere af de store kategorier såsom ”Record of the Year” og ”Album of the Year”.
Også Taylor Swift ligger i det øvre felt med seks nomineringer for sit album Midnights samt sangen "Anti-Hero”, der i skrivende stund er blevet streamet mere end en milliard gange på Spotify. Swift får blandt andet selskab Miley Cyrus, der kan fejre sine første Grammy-nomineringer i næsten et årti med albummet Endless Summer Vacation. I forlængelse af offentliggørelsen skrev hun i et opslag på det sociale medie X:
”Tillykke til alle dette års Grammy-nominerede. At se kvinder vinde og regere musikindustrien gør mig stolt.”
Og dette års Grammy-nomineringer er da også domineret af kvindelige artister, der således fylder de tre største kategorier. Kun Jon Batiste indgår i feltet, der udover SZA, Bridgers og Swift også består af Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey, Olivia Rodrigo og Victoria Monét.
Grammy-nomineringerne byder også på et dansk bidrag. Aqua er nomineret i kategorien ”Best Rap Song” for sangen ”Barbie World” der er et remix af deres verdenshit ”Barbie Girl” fra 1997. Nummeret er lavet i samarbejde med Nicki Minaj og Ice Spice til den populære Barbie-film, der havde premiere i sommer. For nyligt annoncerede Aqua karrierens største danske koncerter, der løber af stablen næste år.
Sidste års helt store Grammy-vinder blev Beyoncé, der således kunne skrive historie som den kunstner, der har modtaget allerflest Grammys med i alt 32 styks. Også Harry Styles høstede flere priser, herunder prisen ”Album of the Year” for sit albumudspil Harry’s House.
